Jess Recommends | Inner Monologue Part 1 by Julia Michaels

Jess Recommends, New Releases

YES, GIRL.

Julia Michaels’ latest EP was released January 24 and the internet is loving it. No wonder, though, seeing how honest, authentic  and brutally raw the six new songs are. When listening to them, it really does feel like fans get to be part of various inner monologues Julia’s had since the release of her past project, Nervous System.

LOVE.

You know that feeling when your lips have been dry for hours and you forgot your lip balm at home so when you finally get home and put it on your lips you feel this overwhelming, yet comforting relief? Yeah, that’s the feeling I get when I listen to Tribulation by Matt Maeson.

HI.

Today John Mayer released a new EP called The Search for Everything: Wave One. While I suggest you listen to the entire record, I recommend listening to one song in particular: Changing.

LOVE.

You know what I love more than a cute boy with a raspy voice? A GIRL with a raspy voice – especially if she is a rock/alternative singer.

This is why today’s blog post is dedicated to Juliet Simms and the release of her new EP From the Grave:

New Discovery | Scout Killers

Allgemein, New Discovery

HELLO.

To all of you Alternative Rockers out there: I found a band that you might want to add to your playlist.

Scout Killers, a five piece band from the UK, were founded back in 2009. According to their bio, they draw some inspiration from bands like Queens of the Stone Age and Red Hot Chili Peppers, which can definitely be heard in their songs. What’s cool, though, is that they still managed to find a style that separates them from bands who produce the same genre.
