Scene Stealer | Hands Of Love by Miley Cyrus

I’m happy to introduce ‘Scene Stealer’, a topic that you’ll see super often on my blog. Why? Because movies and TV shows are my main source when it comes to finding new songs/artists. Without music, television would pretty much suck. Can you imagine watching a #Stelena scene (The Vampire Diaries) without having a super dramatic love song in the background? Can any of you even talk about Titanic without thinking of the most iconic song ever? Can you imagine the Callums (Twilight) playing baseball without that super cool Muse track in the background? Me neither.

Alright, now that y’all understand what Scene Stealer is about, I’m happy to share my first fave in this category:

Firstly,  if you haven’t heard about the song… where have you been? Second, if you haven’t heard about the movie… WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

Hands Of Love is the soundtrack for Freeheld, a movie that will slay at the Oscars. It’s performed by Miley Cyrus, which makes me happy in so many ways. I don’t know about you guys but I absolutely love Miley. She is one of the most talented people out there. Her sticking out her tongue or walking around naked ain’t gonna change the fact that she’s got a very unique voice, which is why I’m so happy that she’s the one providing the soundtrack for this movie.

The song is about fighting for love and equality. It’s about fighting for acceptance and respect and being proud of who you are. It’s about fighting for the right to be whoever you want to be. It’s about… (you get the point!). The reason why I love this song so much is because it has an important message for society. I feel like the movie and the song go hand in hand and tbh with you: that’s a rare thing to see. A lot of movies come along with amazing soundtracks that end up being a hit on the radio but there aren’t many songs that manage to fully represent the message the movie is trying to share with the world.

(I’m not gonna talk about the movie itself because I suck at summarizing things so do me favor and watch the trailer.)

Oh, one more thing: we are all the same. No matter if you’re gay, bi, transgender or heterosexual – we breathe the same air, we stand under same sun, we feel the same love. Everybody deserves a chance to be who they truly want to be. x
